Why contribute to the Master Gardener Foundation?
- Safe and sustainable gardening and water use are vital to preserving our environment. Never have “green” gardening practices been more in the forefront.
- Master Gardeners provide free information to the public on environmentally safe gardening practices and water conservation. The information is research-based and encourages limited use of pesticides and fertilizers.
Last year Master Gardeners donated over 28,850 volunteer hours in King County, serving 40,000 adults and more than 5200 children and youth.
We did this through 34 plant clinics, 7 demonstration gardens, 5 outreach gardens, a speakers’ bureau and a phone clinic, as well as 14 children’s gardens, a classroom outreach program and dozens of classes and workshops.
- The Master Gardener Foundation is the sole support of all these valuable activities.
Washington State University provides the salary and benefits of the Master Gardener Program Coordinator and King County provides office space and a small office budget. The Foundation funds all other program activities.
- Your contribution is tax deductible!
The Master Gardener Foundation of King County is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization recognized by the IRS, and all contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
The WSU King County Extension Master Gardener Program is a highly successful example of collaboration and partnership between a university, county government, and volunteers who serve as citizen scientists. Please consider a donation to the Master Gardener Foundation of King County and help keep our county green!
