Why contribute to the Master Gardener Foundation?
- Safe and sustainable gardening and water use are vital to preserving our environment. Never have "green" gardening practices been more in the forefront.
- Master Gardeners provide free information to the public on environmentally safe gardening practices and water conservation. The information is research-based and encourages limited use of pesticides and fertilizers.
- Last year Master Gardeners donated over 28,850 volunteer hours in King County, serving 40,000 adults and more than 5200 children and youth.
- We did this through 34 plant clinics, 7 demonstration gardens, 5 outreach gardens, a speakers' bureau and a phone clinic, as well as 14 children's gardens, a classroom outreach program and dozens of classes and workshops.
- The Master Gardener Foundation is the sole support of all these valuable activities.
- Washington State University provides the salary and benefits of the Master Gardener Program Coordinator and King County provides office space and a small office budget. The Foundation funds all other program activities.
- Your contribution is tax deductible!
- The Master Gardener Foundation of King County is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization recognized by the IRS, and all contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
The WSU King County Extension Master Gardener Program is a highly successful example of collaboration and partnership between a university, county government, and volunteers who serve as citizen scientists. Please consider a donation to the Master Gardener Foundation of King County and help keep our county green!
