For the Master Gardener Plant Sale & Garden Market in May Fill your gardens with a bevy of beautiful plants, vegetables and herbs. Free parking & free easy plant pick up.

Take advantage of the huge variety of heirloom plants along with tomatoes, herbs and veggie starts to start your very own grocery garden this season.

The sale is open to the public on Friday, May 5, 4p.m. to 8p.m. and on Saturday, May 6, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the UW Center for Urban Horticulture (3501 NE 41st St., Seattle 98105). Attend the Preview Party fundraiser on Friday, May 5 starting at 5:30 — with plenty of time to shop, too. A special selection of plants will be available for purchase only at the party. If you have not gotten your tickets yet, get them AT THE DOOR Friday evening.

Garden Education Talks

These celebrated local gardeners will be presenting on Saturday in NHS Hall starting at 10:00am. Plan to take a break during the sale to hear them. Get your tickets now for one of these talks or during the day at the sale.

Preview Party Fundraiser

This year’s theme is “Cinco de Mayo“. Start the sale early Friday and then stay to party, party at the Preview Party on Friday, May 5, 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Armed with wine and food, you may continue to browse and shop the plant selections at the sale and the special selections available only at the party, vote for your favorite hors d’oeuvres and delight to Ciscoe Morris’ annual appearance. Music at the Preview Party again provided by Tony Lewis and Kaffeine. Plan to bring you family and friends! Purchase tickets at the door if you have not gotten them yet.

A special treat for party-goers! This year Preview Party participants will receive a 10%-off coupon on the first $50 you spend at the sale. A few of the choicest plants will be available only at the Party. Plan to come early and pick up your ticket, and shop before the party.

About the Sale

Plants on Sale. You are sure to find a huge selection of plants:Small Garden - Big Flavor over 75 varieties of veggie starts, herbs and tomatoes +155 perennials and grasses, and natives and ornamental shrubs and trees. View the catalogue of edibles and seeds for sale. For the early starters, think of the tomato plants [2017 varieties, 2017 BDG varieties] tomatoesalong with hundreds of edibles for summer gardens of all kinds . Plan to Ask a Master Gardener how you might create a mix of edibles for container plantings, which ones are best for patios, and to answer any other questions about plants as you browse.

If you are interested in garden plants other than veggies, then this is the sale for you. Master Gardeners have been propagating and potting plants since last fall to ensure that you have a huge selection of perennials, ornamental plants including trees and shrubs, and natives.

A number of local VENDORS will join this sale to provide their own specialty products including unusual plants and garden display items that will provide the perfect focal point for your garden. Here is a list of vendors so that you can plan your shopping. Look for the map at the sale.

Questions about Plants? The Master Gardeners will have their own booth and the MG Diagnosticians will be on hand to answer your plant questions. Bring your ideas and questions and get more design ideas as you wander the sale.

The Plant Sale is a tradition for the King County Master Gardeners, who are celebrating the 44th anniversary of the WSU Master Gardener Program. All proceeds from this sale go to the Master Gardener Foundation of King County which is the main financial support for the Master Gardener program in King County.

Come join the fun and get started on your great garden and groceries for the 2017 growing season.
