For the Master Gardener Plant Sale & Garden Market in May Fill your gardens with a bevy of beautiful plants, vegetables and herbs. Free parking & free easy plant pick up.

Take advantage of the huge variety of heirloom plants along with tomatoes, herbs and veggie starts to start your very own grocery garden this season. Garden Education Talks with celebrated local gardeners like Ciscoe Morris, Karen Chapman, Phil Bennett and Elaine Sherbrooke on Saturday. Watch this space for ticket info.

The sale is open to the public on Friday, May 5, 4p.m. to 8p.m. and on Saturday, May 6, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the UW Center for Urban Horticulture (3501 NE 41st St., Seattle 98105). Attend the Preview Party fundraiser on Friday, May 5 starting at 5:30 — with plenty of time to shop, too.

Preview Party Fundraiser — this year’s theme is “Cinco de Mayo. Start the sale early Friday and then stay to party, party at the Preview Party on Friday, May 5, 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Armed with wine and food, you may continue to browse the plant selections and shop, vote for your favorite hors d’oeuvres and delight to Ciscoe Morris’ annual appearance. Music at the Preview Party again provided by Tony Lewis and Kaffeine. Details will be available later, but plan now to bring you family and friends! Purchase tickets now, and remember that availability is limited. Come early to shop then party at 5:30 p.m.

Plants on Sale. You are sure to find a huge selection of plants: over 75 varieties of veggie starts, herbs and tomatoes, +155 perennials and grasses, and natives and ornamental shrubs and trees. We will post a catalogue of edibles and seeds for sale later. For the early starters, think of the tomato plants that will include hundreds of edibles for summer gardens of all kinds. Plan to Ask a Master Gardener to answer your questions about plants as you browse.

If you are interested in garden plants other than veggies, then this is the sale for you. Master Gardeners have been propagating and potting plants since last fall to ensure that you have a huge selection of perennials, ornamentals including trees and shrubs, and natives.

A number of local vendors will join this sale to provide their own specialty products including unusual plants and garden display items that will provide the perfect focal point for your garden.

Questions about Plants? The Master Gardeners will have their own booth and the MG Diagnosticians will be on hand to answer your plant questions. Bring your ideas and questions and get more design ideas as you wander the sale.

The Plant Sale is a tradition for the King County Master Gardeners, who are celebrating the 44th anniversary of the WSU Master Gardener Program. All proceeds from this sale go to the Master Gardener Foundation of King County which is the main financial support for the Master Gardener program in King County.

Come join the fun and get started on your great garden and groceries for the 2017 growing season.
