What makes the Master Gardener plant sale so special?

Ask a Master Gardener! Get free and expert plant shopping advice.  The Master Gardeners will have their own plant clinic booth and the MG Diagnosticians will be on hand to answer your plant questions. Bring your ideas and questions and get more design ideas as you wander the sale. At this sale you can shop and learn more about selecting outstanding plants for the maritime Pacific Northwest gardens and how to take care of them.

Shop early on Friday, April 26, 4:00PM-8:00PM. shop all day Saturday, April 27, 9:00AM to 4:00PM.

  • Free parking nearby BUT please do NOT park in the neighborhood adjacent to CUH. Help us to be good neighbors. Look for the signs for easy access to parking.
  • Over two dozen specialty plant and garden vendors! A huge variety of unusual heirloom perennials, rhododendrons, native plants, veggies & herbs along with the best tomato choices around. These plants are known to grow well in our PNW climate.

Plan to attend the Private Fundraiser Party on Friday, April 26 starting at 5:30PM-8PM. Support King County Master Gardeners by buying a ticket to party and shop. Watch this space to buy your ticket for this event.

Proceeds from the Party and the plant sale support all WSU Extension Master Gardener activities in King County, 38 plant clinics and 14 gardens focused on sharing horticultural information about sustainable, science-based gardening practices with the public .

What do you want to know? Here are some tips for shopping:

  • Wagons will be available to gather your plants
  • Maps available at entry so you can locate your area of interest or favorite vendor
  • Holding zone so you can continue to shop
  • Loading Zone and Pick Up area available
  • Parking – free parking nearby, easy access by bus
  • Accessibility: easy access to vendors
  • Bathrooms available onsite in NHS hall
  • Directions: via car or arrive by bus (Routes 65, 67, 75 and 78 stops nearby)

THE PLANTS. This year we are helping you to find plants and plant combinations to fit your small space. Look for special displays in every department, and feel free to ask for help with your special space.

You are sure to find a huge selection of plants:Gardening Big in Small Spaces many varieties of veggie starts, herbs and tomatoes, perennials and grasses, and natives and ornamental shrubs and trees.  For the early starters, think of the tomato plantstomatoes . Plan to Ask a Master Gardener how you might create a mix of edibles for container plantings, which ones are best for patios, and to answer any other questions about plants as you browse.

If you are interested in garden plants other than veggies, then this is the sale for you. Master Gardeners have been propagating and potting plants since last fall to ensure that you have a huge selection of perennials, unusual heirloom perennials included, along with ornamental plants including trees and shrubs, and natives.


A number of local Vendors will join this sale to provide their own specialty products including unusual plants and garden display items that will provide the perfect focal point for your garden. We will be posting a list of vendors so that you can plan your shopping.

When you arrive at the sale, look for the sale map available from our Master Gardener greeters to find you way around the sale and to find your favorite vendor.


The Plant Sale is a tradition for the King County Master Gardeners, who are celebrating the 46th anniversary of our WSU Master Gardener Program. Contributions towards making this plant sale a success come from many organizations across the county. Find the complete list of sponsors here and make sure that you and our customers are encouraged to support them with your patronage.

Proceeds from the CUH Master Gardener Plant Sale and the Party Fundraiser go to the Master Gardener Foundation of King County and its support for the 38 Master Gardener clinics and 14 Master Gardener demonstration gardens throughout the county. Help support research-based horticultural education for King County residents offered for free by Master Gardeners.
